You're good at what you do. So why do some clients never clear?

You know your skincare. You keep your training up to date. And there's still that handful of clients where nothing really shifts.

Where you are now

Different products, same client

She's back in the chair again. You've changed the protocol twice. There's a supplement line sat on the shelf because you're not confident enough to recommend it properly.

What's really going on

The skin is telling you something

Acne is the skin communicating something happening internally. Until you know what that is, you're managing symptoms rather than resolving them. It's why a new serum transforms one client and does nothing for the next.

What's missing

Not skill. A framework

Your clients arrive more informed than ever, asking about their hormones, their gut, their stress. They want someone who can look at their skin and understand what's driving it underneath.

"What more do I say to them? Just carry on, and hopefully it gets better."

Every practitioner, at some point

Seven pillars. One framework. Every client.

You're looking through the skin, not at it
01MindsetWhy it matters
Why what a client believes about their skin changes what actually happens to it. How the language they use shapes their results, and how to work with clients with this in mind from the very beginning.
02Nervous systemThe stress and skin connection
How long term stress impacts digestion, hormone balance and the gut, and then shows up on the skin. You'll learn the regulation work that shifts skin when creams and serums have stopped making a difference.
03NutritionBlood sugar, inflammation, macronutrients
Blood sugar regulation, inflammatory triggers and the dietary patterns that keep showing up behind breakouts that won't budge. You'll learn what to look for, and what to change first.
04LifestyleSleep, movement, environment
The everyday things clients never think to mention. Sleep, movement, what's around them day to day. You'll learn how to assess these key areas to support your client to make changes for their skin.
05HormonesPCOS, endometriosis, post pill and more
PCOS, thyroid imbalances, estrogen dominance, post pill acne and more. You'll learn how sex hormones and hormonal conditions show up on the skin, what post pill skin is actually asking for, and how to spot the pattern to truly support your client's skin from within.
06DigestionGut, liver, detoxification, lymph
Gut function, liver load, detox pathways and lymph, explained simply. These are the systems behind the skin that clears, then comes back a few months later. You'll learn how to recognise when digestion and detoxification is the missing piece.
07SkinAnalysis, acne, rosacea, eczema, barrier
You'll learn how to analyse skin properly, in clinic and virtually. Acne, rosacea, eczema, teenage skin and barrier repair, all read as signals rather than standalone conditions.
+LaunchBonus module, build your own programme
Copy and paste templates, forms and pricing so you can launch your skin programme in clinic or online, in as little as two weeks.

Every before and after from an FSA student wasn't achieved by reading symptoms.

One framework, repeatable on every client

What you can achieve with Functional Skin Academy.

A student shares a client's before and after: "This is before we started, and her skin now. We haven't even worked on the scarring yet, and just using a gentle cleanser and moisturiser. No actives." She adds the client has not been ill since they started, having previously been ill constantly.
A student messages: "Eeeeeek 490, not sure if that's what we even said, paid upfront! And brought products on top!" Faye replies that four of those a month is an extra two thousand pounds.
A student messages: "I've now got 2 clients for my clear from within program who have paid. I'm also away on a much needed overnight and find it amazing how I've just been paid £349 whilst I'm laying in bed in a hotel."
A student messages: "So I've charged £347 for it and once I get before and agreed for the client that's officially signed up, I'll maybe raise to £447 then see how we go."
A student messages: "My first client on her acne programme, 3 months in! Barrier focused and working with Faye's programme!"
Your six months

From guessing to knowing, step by step.

FSA isn't a course you buy and then sit with on your own. Here's how the six months actually run.

01
Weeks 1 to 4

The foundations click into place

You get instant access to the full portal. You work through the first framework modules and start applying symptom analysis to clients already in your diary. There's no waiting until you've finished everything.

A live FSA call, working through the Functional Health Assessment Form together
02
Months 2 to 4

You bring real clients to the calls

Weekly live calls alternate between client case studies, pattern recognition sessions and expert masterclasses. You stop asking what to do with a difficult client and start spotting the pattern yourself.

03
Months 4 and 5

You build your own programme

The Launch module hands you the templates, the forms and the pricing structure. You package what you now know into a skin programme you can run in clinic, online, or both.

04
Month 6 and beyond

You become a CPD Accredited Functional Skin Practitioner and receive your certificate. That's a title to prove your knowledge, and one that tells clients you're an expert. You can stay inside FSA afterwards for ongoing support and updated modules, for a small monthly fee.

What our students are saying.

A student messages Faye: "Just wanted to share with you that after our call Monday I put my big girl pants on and messaged the acne client back to offer them a consultation with me instead of referring them onto another skin specialist."
Instagram comment from debbiewalkerskintherapy: "It really is the best thing I've done, I have a completely new approach now when dealing with skin."
A student messages: "I wanted to say how utterly amazing your course is. I've done other courses in the past, and specifically acne courses, and this is the best thing I've ever done."

Built for practitioners who are already good, and ready to go further.

This is for you if

  • You're a skin practitioner, facialist or aesthetician

  • You're ready to take what you know online and build income that doesn't depend on being in the treatment room
  • You'd rather be ahead of this shift than watching everyone else move into it without you

  • Discuss your preferred payment plan
  • Instant access to the portal as soon as you enrol
  • Instant access to the community group
  • Optional ongoing access after six months at a small monthly fee

Build your online skin programme, or combine it with in clinic treatments, and after just a few clients see a return on your investment.

Faye Knox, founder of Functional Skin Academy

Nobody said this is why. So I went and learned why.

Faye Knox · Founder, Functional Skin Academy

My skin story didn't start behind a treatment bed. It started with benzoyl peroxide at fourteen, then two rounds of antibiotics, the depo injection, the pill and eventually Roaccutane. It worked. Then I came off the pill and my skin went wild. Severe acne, and a PCOS diagnosis with it.

So I went and trained in nutrition, functional health and lifestyle coaching. I worked with a naturopath. I got my period back after eight months, cleared my own skin without medication, and it's stayed clear for over three years.

Then I built a clinic and cleared acne for more than 100 women. Practitioners started asking how I was getting those results. I hadn't found better products. I'd found a different way of thinking, one where the gut, the hormones, the stress and the skin aren't separate conversations. They're the same one.

That's why I created Functional Skin Academy.

A few things you might be wondering.

What happens on the discovery call?
You leave a few details, pick a time, and talk to Faye about where you are now, the clients you are stuck with, and whether FSA is the right fit. It is also where we cover cost and the payment plans. Have your Level 2 certificate to hand, as the form asks for it.
When can I join FSA?
FSA opens for enrolment a few times a year. Book a call, get your questions answered, and secure your spot when doors open.
Is FSA officially accredited?
Yes. FSA is certified by The CPD Certification Service. Complete your sixty hours and you become a CPD Accredited Functional Skin Practitioner, with the certificate to show for it. That's a recognised qualification behind your expertise, and the confidence to charge accordingly.
What happens after my six months?
Your learning doesn't stop there. You can stay inside FSA for ongoing support and regularly updated modules at a small monthly fee.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes we do. We recommend booking a call so we can discuss the different plans.
Does FSA include business support?
It does. There's a whole Launch section dedicated to building and launching your skin programme, so you walk away ready to use what you've learned rather than just holding it.
Can I really package this into a programme?
Yes, and FSA shows you exactly how. You're not selling a guaranteed outcome. You're selling a personalised protocol and a complete approach to clear skin, which is a very different thing. The Launch section gives you the templates, forms and pricing structure to make it work.
I already have good client retention. Is FSA still for me?
Absolutely. Good retention means your clients trust you. FSA turns that trust into a programme you can charge more for, and eventually lets you reach clients you'd never meet in clinic.
Are there in person events?
Yes, we aim to host one a year. It's a chance to meet your FSA community face to face and go deeper on the work.

The gap your clients want filled. Why not you?

The practitioners who'll be the go to skin experts in five years are learning this now. We'll talk about where you are, what's holding you back, and whether FSA is the right fit.

A couple of minutes of detail, then you pick your time.
The call is with Faye, and it is how you get your place when the next cohort opens.
